Lust List: Green Striped Celine Phantom

Have you ever seen a bag and just fallen completely head over heels in love? Well that was me a couple of years ago when I saw Kendall Jenner carrying this green striped Celine Phantom bag. Whether you’re a Kardashian fan or not, there’s no denying that all of the Kardashian-Jenners have amazing bag collections. This particular bag is from Spring/Summer 2015 collection, so a couple of years out of season now, and generally with more trendier pieces like this, I lose interest after six months. But when I saw a pre-loved version pop up over on Vestaire Collective, my lust was re-ignited .

When I saw this bag originally, I thought it was just so cool. The green stripe canvas isn’t a pattern or colour that is going to go with every outfit, but it actually compliments a surprising amount of colours. I’ve always loved the structured, but also laid-back vibe of the Celine phantom, with the extended inner straps poking out the side of the bag really appealing to me. I think it’s the perfect mix of casual and chic.

I also tend to gravitate towards coloured bags instead of the standard black. I love mixing and matching colours, something I get to do in my day job as a graphic designer, and getting to show this in my outfits makes me feel more myself. I’ve not always been a massive fan of green, but I don’t know, with this bag the shade of green combined with the white stripes just ticks all the right boxes. I also wear a lot of tan & nude shoes in the spring/summer so the green is a great way of adding a bit of colour to outfits!

In practical terms, I’m probably not going to be able to afford this bag anytime soon. I tend to use bags with shoulder straps more, so I can have my hands free, therefore it doesn’t seem sensible to save up for months to buy a bag that looks amazing, but might not be an everyday bag for me. But that definitely doesn’t mean I can’t lust after it from afar!

Do you have a bag that you’re lusting after at the moment? Let me know in the comments!
